Equine serum gonadotrophin for veterinary use is a dry preparation of a glycoprotein fraction obtained from the serum or plasma of pregnant mares. It has follicle-stimulating and luteinising activities. The potency is not less than 1000 IU of gonadotrophin activity per milligram, calculated with reference to the anhydrous substance, which complies with the EP standard.
【Pharmacological properties】
Hormone drugs. The product has intrinsic FSH and LH-like activity. In female animals, it mainly reflects in follicle stimulating-like activity, promoting follicular development and maturation, causing estrus in female animals; Besides, it also has lightly LH-like activity, promoting mature follicular to ovulate or even superovulation. It can increase androgen secretion and sexual excitement in male animals.
【Indication for use】 Hormone drugs.
It is mainly used in female animals to urge estrus and promote follicular development. It is also used for superovulation during embryo transfer.
V-Follimate® is a veterinary formulation of PMSG (Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin), a gonadotropin with both FSH-like and LH-like activity. The active ingredient is purified from the serum of healthy pregnant mares under strict traceability and a viral-inactivation process, and the finished product is manufactured under veterinary GMP with full QC for bioactivity, sterility and endotoxin.
It is used for estrus synchronization and batch production in pigs, cattle and sheep — promoting follicular development and inducing estrus so that groups of animals come into heat simultaneously. It is also used for superovulation in embryo-transfer programs. Dosing follows the veterinarian's protocol according to species and breeding program.
Store at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Once reconstituted, use the solution promptly and do not store it for reuse. Use within the labeled shelf life under the recommended conditions.
